PyCon Greece 2026 is excited to welcome the Libre Space Foundation, a community bringing together technology, open source, and space exploration.
As part of our PyCon Experiences, you’ll have the opportunity to explore their work up close, with satellite models, components, and technologies used for communicating with satellites.
Take a closer look at models of real small satellites, including Qubik, UPSat, and DIRAC of PHASMA mission, in different configurations and sizes, and discover the spacecraft that are, or have been, in orbit.
The community will also showcase satellite components and systems, including SatNOGS-COMMS open source communication boards, Qubik components, and PICOBUS, a system designed to deploy very small satellites.
Υou’ll also be able to see a small satellite ground station, featuring a Raspberry Pi, SDR, LNA, and a turnstile antenna. The system is used to receive signals from satellites and is a practical example of how the community can build infrastructure for monitoring space.
Through screens showing live data from the SatNOGS Network and its database, you’ll be able to explore the network and see real-time telemetry from satellites received by stations around the world.
